The particle and nuclear physics group at Fudan University invites applications for 2 postdoctoral research associates to either work on CMS experiment at CERN in Switzerland or sPHENIX experiment at Brookhaven National
Laboratory (BNL) in the USA.
Fudan University is one of the top universities in China. Our group consists of more than ten senior faculties and a strong team of postdocs and Ph.D. students, pursuing research in various projects such as STAR, sPHENIX, ALICE, CMS, Belle-II, BES-III, dark matter experiments as well as theoretical/phenomenological studies.
The CMS group at Fudan University is newly being established. The candidate is expected to contribute to physics analyses to search for physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM) in the Higgs/electroweak sectors and to the Phase-II upgrade for the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC).
For the sPHENIX experiment, Fudan University is in charge of the electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL). The candidate is expected to contribute to this R&D task as well as simulation studies for the physic analyses to understand the properties of the quark-gluon plasma. There is also a possibility to work on data analyses at CMS.
The candidates will be based in Shanghai, China with travels to CERN or BNL whenever needed. The initial appointment will be for two years and renewable based on mutual satisfaction.
Eligible candidates should have a Ph.D. by the time of the appointment, either in experimental particle or nuclear physics.
Interested candidates should send their application materials (curriculum vitae, a brief description of research interest, a list of publications and three letters of recommendation) to Prof. Hideki Okawa (email@example.com). Please include “Fudan postdoc application” in the e-mail subject.
For any inquiry, please also contact Prof. Okawa. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Applications will be reviewed once they are received, and the positions will be open until they are filled.
